Functionality

E-View allows you to print the displayed file in three different ways:

• direct mode with the normal options available through the standard Windows drivers
• like the previous mode, but with the automatic selection of the printer according to the size of the file to be printed
• special driver mode, which allows customized management of printing devices. Working with the machine language of printing peripherals for large volumes, it is possible to optimize paper consumption by controlling the folding and output of the prints

It is possible to print in the manner described above, even from a list of files rather than just from the displayed file. With this functionality, the highest level of automation is achieved.

All types of printing have the possibility of setting for:

• Thicknesses and colors of the pens, differentiated for each single graphic format
• Conversion fonts
• Stamping of prints
• Groupings of printers by company department or office

E-View allows you to convert the file displayed with the File> Export command.

As for printing, it is also possible to operate in list mode for conversion.

For both the .DXF and .PDF output format, the functionality that allows you to stamp the conversion phase is available.

Through a command line syntax, the batch use of E-View allows you to use the printing and conversion features with all the standard software options. This makes it possible for E-View to integrate with any document management tool and to be able to structure customized procedures to use the E-View functions in any application flow.

The setting possibilities for the batch mode are:

• Conversion fonts
• Stamping
• Groupings of printers by company department or office

The list mode, available with direct, batch and spool operation, allows the processing of files for printing and conversion, using all the configuration options available in E-View:

The spool mode allows you to have E-View “listening” to one or more folders, giving the possibility to print and convert both single files and a list of files in a completely automatic way. All graphic files that arrive in one of the spool folders are processed according to the set configuration rules.

The vectorization feature allows you to get a vector file from a TIF format raster file. The degree of precision of the vector file that is obtained depends on the quality of the starting raster file.

Before vectorization, in order to improve the quality of the raster file, you can use the cleanup function. The command is available when a raster file is loaded on the screen, in the File> Export> Vectorization menu

The TIF files obtained from the rasterization of transparencies of very old or damaged drawings can be subjected to an automatic cleaning operation.

With a raster file on the screen, the Actions> Clean drawing command is available, which, through a calculation algorithm, intercepts the points that are not part of the drawing in an area that can be set by the user and deletes them.

E-View makes available a development kit with which you can develop your own applications, for example to connect to external data sources.

With this technique, plugins for connection to databases such as Oracle, MSSql and Approve have been developed. These plugins provide an interface from which you can type a design code, part of it or the description, and perform a direct search on the database to which you are connected. In this way, it is possible to maximize the performance of the availability of data contained in a database.
